Supplement your diet with iodine.

When Dr. Clark wrote about Lugol’s Iodine in her first book, The Cure For All Cancers, my daughter, Sandra, learned to use it to heal her mouth after oral surgery and to help her mouth heal between surgeries (after every meal she rinsed her mouth with a solution of Lugol's Iodine and distilled water by holding the solution in her mouth for a minute and then spitting it out). Sandy had all of her teeth removed in 2001 and 25 additional oral surgeries between then and September 2009 to remove dead bone from the holes in her jawbone where her teeth were (called cavitations) and has now fully recovered from osteonecrosis of the jawbone (caused by her being prescribed and taking tetraclyine at the age of three).

Sandy believes she would never have recovered her health if she had not used Lugol’s Iodine (or found, through Bonnie writing about Sandra in her her newsletter and a reader calling to tell us about, Dr. Villafana, DDS, who finally succeeded in removing all the infection, dead bone, dead bovine bone grafts, and abnormal nerve endings that grew out of several of the successful bone grafts) So, thanks to Dr. Clark and Sandy taking her advice so seriously, we know how powerful Lugol’s Iodine is when used to guard against infection, but it took us awhile to realize that Lugol’s is not just a remedy for preventing infection, but is a nutrient that is crucial for all aspects of health.

(In 1980) they ruined our bread. It was done quietly and quickly (before 1980 in some countries, later in others, and not at all in a lucky few) and it was, seemingly, innocuous. This is what happened, in four little words: hello bromine, goodbye iodine.

In the good old days, when iodine was used as a dough conditioner, there were generous quantities in our bread, and in all bakery products. This amount of iodine was sufficient to protect thyroid glands from radioactive iodine, and to prevent thyroid illnesses of all persuasions. Iodine was also in our milk, for a really good reason: it kills bacteria. It was used on the teats of cows before milking to ensure cleanliness, and it was used to sterilize the equipment used in the milking process.

As my friend and colleague, Pip Rose, told me: We used iodine in our dairy for years, as it was the perfect antiseptic, and it was dirt cheap.    Then, one day, someone from the Milk Board arrived on our doorstep and threatened to de-register us if we did not replace the iodine with a chemical. I don’t remember its name, but it smelled toxic, and it was heaps more expensive than the iodine. We were forced to use this chemical for milk sold to the public, but we certainly didn’t use it for our family: we didn’t want to poison our daughters. Multiply this story by millions of dairies worldwide, and it sure smells like a conspiracy!

Doctor Donald Miller, my American telephone and email colleague, says: I’ve used iodine on a daily basis for the last 35 years in heart surgery, to prepare patients’ skin. It is the best antiseptic for preventing wound infections after surgery, because it kills 90% of bacteria on skin within 90 seconds. Dr Miller, who is Professor of Cardiac Surgery at the University of Washington in the US, has permitted us to post an article he wrote on iodine on our website. You will learn a great deal by reading it.

Iodine, as mentioned earlier, is essential, as it helps to eliminate toxic metals from our bodies, especially bromine. So, when iodine was replaced by bromine, there was no longer a way to eliminate the bromine. Overnight, a huge segment of the population was being affected by bromine. This was infinitely more serious than the damage done by Bromo-Seltzer, which only struck a tiny proportion of society. And, of course, the brominated vegetable oil in soft drinks only strikes people who are stupid enough to guzzle them. But bread — The Staff of Life — strikes us all!

As respected iodine researcher James Howenstine, MD, succinctly puts it: This substitution of bromine for iodine has resulted in nearly universal deficiency of iodine in the American populace. Iodine therapy helps the body eliminate fluoride, bromine, lead, cadmium, arsenic, aluminum and mercury. Could this substitution of bromine for iodine have been carried out to increase diseases and thus create more need for pharmaceutical drugs?



PS Sandy and Dale can take Lugol's Iodine with no problem, but when she tried taking it in 1999 after eating lunch with Dr. Clark (we were in Canada for a three day seminar) and watching her take six drops of Lugol's Iodine 30 minutes before she ate her lunch and listening to her tell her story of feeling much more energetic when she takes six drops before every meal, Bonnie tried taking it but had a bad reaction (after taking one drop in water three times a day 30 minutes before meals for two days she developed a red rash on her chest and, after the second dose that day, immediately after she swallowed it, she had a rapid heart beat for several minutes) so Dr. Clark advised her to stop taking it as it looked like she was allergic to it. However, in May 2010, Bonnie found that Nascent Iodine drops (six drops in water twice a day 30 minutes before eating) does not cause her any problems and definitely gives her more energy, so we have all been taking Nascent Iodine drops since then.

Seven Methods to Slow Your Aging Process – Method Four Serrapeptase

Protect your heart and circulatory system with the anti-inflammatory agent Serrapeptase, the proteolytic enzyme. “Proteolytic” literally means protein dissolving.

The medical use of enzymes as anti-inflammatory agents goes back many years. In the early 1950s it was discovered that intravenous trypsin could unexpectedly relieve the symptoms of many different inflammatory conditions, including rheumatoid arthritis, ulcerative colitis, and atypical viral pneumonia. Subsequently, intramuscular enzyme injections were found to be beneficial in counteracting post-surgical swelling (edema), treating thrombophlebitis and lower back strain, and rapidly healing bruises caused by sports injuries.

At that time the mechanism of the anti-inflammatory effect remained obscure. Today it is believed to involve degradation of inflammatory mediators, suppression of edema, activation of fibrinolysis, reduction of immune complexes (antibody-antigen conglomerates), and proteolytic modification of cell-surface adhesion molecules which guide inflammatory cells to their targets. (Such adhesion molecules are known to play an important role in the development of arthritis and other autoimmune diseases.)

About Vitamin C

Humans must consume "C" every day - they are among the few animals who do not produce  "C"

Vitamin C is an essential nutrient (required for normal body functioning that cannot be synthesized by the body and must be obtained from a dietary source).

The presence of Vitamin C is required for a range of essential metabolic reactions in all animals and in plants and is made internally by almost all organisms, humans being one notable exception.

Scurvy is caused by deficiency of vitamin C, characterized by spongy and bleeding gums, bleeding under the skin, and extreme weakness. A severe deficiency of vitamin C leads to tooth loss.

In 1970 Dr. Linus Pauling proposed that regular intake of vitamin-C in amounts far higher than the officially sanctioned RDA (Recommended Daily Allowance) could help prevent and shorten the duration of the common cold.

Recent medical research has confirmed Dr. Pauling’s original idea. Not only does a high vitamin C intake markedly reduce the severity of a cold, it also effectively prevents secondary viral or bacterial complications. Vitamin C works by stimulating the immune system and protecting against damage by the free radicals released by the body in its fight against the infection.

While 200 mg per day of vitamin C may be sufficient to maintain a reasonable health status in healthy, young men, it is clear that such a relatively low intake is far from adequate for older and sick people. It is also evident that far greater amounts are required to provide optimum protection against degenerative diseases such as cancer and heart disease.

Vitamin C should be taken to bowel tolerance: increase the amount taken until your bowels become loose, reduce the amount until your bowels are no longer loose and take that amount daily. Hopefully it will be at least 1,000 mg daily. Dr. Pauling recommended vitamin C intakes of 1,000 mg per day or more.
Vitamin C is best taken at least twice a day.

Make homemade vegetable soup with distilled water daily and drink at least one cup of the broth daily (this is “Alkaline Broth” and you can drink as much of it as you desire). Our body desperately needs minerals to do all the replacing of cells that it does daily and it can only use minerals that vegetables have taken from the ground and, with the help of the sun (photosynthesis) changed into organic minerals for our bodies to use.

In our household we have made some changes to reduce our BPA toxicity:
We use BPA-free bottles to carry our water.
We store our distilled water, which is made in our home water distiller -- in BPA-free bottles.
We buy milk in glass bottles (our milk is also non-homogenized) and any product where we have a choice between buying it in a glass bottle or a plastic bottle (such as mayonnaise, salad dressing, etc.).

We remove frozen food from plastic containers and place it in oven-safe Pyrex dishes before we heat it. (Note: SC Johnson does not use BPA in its plastic products, Ziploc brand bags and containers, and Saran brand wraps.)
We avoid using canned goods and make our own tomato paste, tomato sauce, etc.
To store food in the refrigerator we place only cold food in Tupperware and place hot food in Mason jars before sealing, cooling and storing in the refrigerator.
Several years ago we each began taking 2 capsules a day of DIM-Plus (Diindolylmethane) by Nature’s Way, which was recommended to us by an M.D. for the gradual removal of any built-up BPA stored our bodies.
Any suggestions on limiting and/or removing BPA from the body is welcome. We will share your input in our next email.

necrotic jaw bone tissue

you mention dr villafana in mexico for oral surgery, but do you know of one closer to me
in san diego, ca? give me info on some things i could try at home (herbs, iodine, etc)
while i find a surgeon to take out my necrotic jawbone tissue out. any good articles on whole
body swelling which i have developed? very ill due molar extractions, that were then sealed up with eugenol for dry sockets and bone grafts…dr doesn’t want to take them out.
i feel the infection has become systemic. and last, i will opt for complete dentures at this point, which ones do you recommend , what helps keep them in place?

Colonoscopy Revealed Darkened Colon

Some Doctors comment on darkened colon walls and advise to stop herbs.

Here is what I recommend:

When you are going to have a colonoscopy you will want to stop taking Jim's (or any other herbal remedy) 3 weeks prior to your procedure.

The darkening does not effect the function of your colon, but doctors would prefer you to be constipated or taking a pharmaceutical solution since they do not have any training in herbal remedy.

Do Coffee Enemas Destroy the Friendly Flora in the Colon?

Here is an email I received recently asking that question and my answer:

Dear Bonnie,

I was delightfully surprised to see your name (on an email I sent to her).

I didn’t realize it was your web site.

I have been aware for years of your wonderful work supporting the knowledge Dr. Kelley had gathered.

Thank you for all your efforts to benefit people and their health.

A question for you regarding coffee enemas:

My husband and I have been doing them daily for about 4 years.

In your experience — can the coffee enemas destroy the friendly flora in the colon? (i.e. — anymore than life in general tends to challenge our friendly flora already)

Bonnie’s Answer: Anytime you rinse your colon with a plain water enema, a coffee enema, a 50-minute colonic, or even when you have a bowel movement, you lose some of the friendly flora that resides in your colon. This does not reduce the friendly flora to the extent that it becomes a problem.

However, it is possible to increase the friendly flora in your colon by implanting friendly flora with a second enema (or after having a colonic) consisting of the probiotics Flora-G Plus and Candida-G mixed with distilled water (see directions on page 3).

I’ve been taking a daily coffee enema since November 1982. I take them because after I spent a month at the Gerson Cancer Clinic my life-long seasonal allergies (for which I had to take steroids for a month every June in order to breathe) were brought under control.

I have not had a major allergy attack or taken steroids since 1982. At the Gerson Clinic I learned that to stay allergy-free I must take enzymes and one coffee enema every morning. The enzymes I take are: one pancreatin 325 tablet (an enzyme from  the pancreas of pigs that digests protein, fats and carbohydrates with an exceptional ability to digest protein) with each meal every day except in June when I take six tablets with each meal, six serrapeptase tablets a day (two three times a day as this keeps my excess mucous under control), and one 500 mg. amylase capsule (an enzyme that helps digests carbohydrates) daily when I drink my whole-fruit drink in the morning.

At the Gerson Clinic I also met people who once had cancer (some over 10 years previously) and, after following the Gerson regime, got rid of it.

While at the clinic I drank 13 cups of raw, organic fruit and vegetable juice daily, ate a strict organic vegetarian diet, drank and ate food cooked with only water that had been distilled, took enzymes and other supplements, and took three coffee enemas daily. Anyone who refused to take two to three coffee enemas daily were asked to leave because without taking the coffee enemas the body cannot get rid of the toxins that the diet and enzymes cause to be released into the blood stream. When I developed a fever and flu-like symptoms the doctors cheered because it meant the regime was working and I was having a healing crisis (which, in my case, lasted five days), during which the coffee enemas were increased to five a day. A healing crisis means your body is healing an unhealthy area of your body. If I had been there due to having cancer, after the initial month of eating a low protein diet (the protein is now from desiccated liver tablets but in 1982 it was from drinking juiced and pressed raw, organic veal liver juice mixed with carrot juice twice a day), I would have stayed on a modified diet (more protein) and continued the regime — and continued to have healing crises — until the cancer was gone.

Note: My daughter, Sandy, asked that I mention that if she had not been taking coffee enemas every day, sometimes two and three times a day, she does not think she could have made it through the ordeal of having multiple oral surgeries over the past eight years to help her overcome osteonecrosis of the jawbone (death of a section of the jawbone, a consequence that’s hard to treat and difficult to have) that she developed due to taking Tetracycline when she was three years old. A case in point: three days after Sandy put Barbara Frank’s Natural Herbal Lotion (NHL), which is formulated to kill parasites, viruses and bacteria, all over her body she felt so sick she thought she had a severe case of the flu, but after two coffee enemas that day she started feeling better and by the next day she was much better. Since first using NHL Sandy has used it once a month (three times so far) and each time her reaction has been milder, but she has felt flu-like symptoms by the third day (Barbara recommends using her Natural Herbal Lotion once a month).

Dr. Kelley on Parasites as the Cause of Cancer and Coffee Enemas Harming the Friendly Flora in the Colon

I asked Dr. Kelley what he thought about the theory that parasites (flukes, yeast, fungus — Candida Albicans) are the cause of cancer. His answer was that parasites are opportunistic and will take over wherever and whenever there is an unhealthy area in the body. He said taken in high enough amounts his enzymes will digest not only cancerous cells but parasites as well as they digest any and all foreign protein in the body.

Getting back to coffee enemas and friendly colon flora: For many years I didn’t worry about the friendly flora in my colon being harmed by my daily coffee enemas because I believed if coffee enemas helped get rid of my allergies — and helped so many people I met at the Gerson Clinic get rid of cancer and stay cancer-free for the rest of their lives — they obviously were not harming me.

Also, as I worked with Dr. Kelley in 1998 and 1999 updating his book One Answer To Cancer, I asked him if he thought it was harmful to the friendly flora in the colon to take daily coffee enemas. He said he had been taking a daily coffee enema since the 60s when he cured himself of pancreatic cancer with his Formula CA+ enzymes (now called Formula PEP enzymes) and multiple daily coffee enemas and his colon had plenty of friendly flora. http://oneanswertocancer.com

However, because I often had urinary tract infections (they began after I got married in 1957) and in 2006 (almost 50 years later) I learned about two probiotic supplements (Flora-G Plus and Candida-G) that are so hardy they can be taken the same day as an antibiotic (two hours later) without being killed off by the antibiotic, I got the idea to mix Flora-G Plus and Candida-G with distilled water and take a second “probiotic” enema (see directions below) after I take my coffee enema.

I also take one Flora-G Plus capsule and one Candida-G capsule by mouth daily. Both the probiotic enema and taking the probiotic capsules helped me to stop having urinary tract infections. I haven’t had a urinary tract infection since 2006.

Directions for a Probiotic Enema to Control Candida Overgrowth in the Colon and Urinary Tract:

In a quart glass bottle or jar put two cups warm distilled water. Open one capsule each of Flora-G Plus and Candida-G and pour the contents into the water. Cap the bottle, shake it, and add two more cups of warm distilled water. Pour the mixture into your enema bucket. While lying on your right side take the mixture into your colon and hold it for about five to ten minutes. Then release it into the toilet.

Note: Some people prefer to take a type of enema called an “implant.” With a probiotic implant you use only one cup of water and you try not to release it. The theory is: the longer you hold it the more probiotic is absorbed into the body.

Do Coffee Enemas Wash Away Minerals?

Another concern with taking daily coffee enemas for some people is that you might lose minerals. I learned about this from a Colonhydrotherapist. At her clinic after every client is finished with their colonhydrotherapy an implant of water and liquid minerals is administered through a bypass hose into the person’s colon. This is held for five or ten minutes and then released.

I am sensitive to most mineral supplements (I get uric acid spots — white spots — on my skin; legs, arms, face). Dr. Kelley thought it was due to my kidneys not being able to excrete the minerals my body couldn’t absorb right then — most people’s kidney’s have no problem excreting the excess. So I don’t put minerals into my enemas or swallow tablets, capsules or liquid minerals.

The minerals I tolerate best come from vegetables by way of homemade vegetable broth. Once a week I chop up lots of vegetables, bring them to a boil in several quarts of distilled water and, after they’ve simmered for 30 minutes, I put the vegetables and the broth into mason jars, seal them, cool them and refrigerate them. I drink the broth every day (I strain it off the vegetables and either toss the vegetables or save them to eat later). I love the broth heated and I drink three cups of this hot, mineral-rich broth every morning. (The original recipe, “Dr. Rau’s Alkaline Soup,” came from Dr. Thomas Rau, Switzerland.)

Because magnesium is not very abundant in vegetables I have recently been putting Ancient Minerals Magnesium Oil on my skin.
