Repairing your zapper, The most common damage is the wire breaking at the battery connection. You will need a Philips screw driver, something to cut the wire, some tape or wire nuts. (Optionally you may choose to solder the wire connections.) You will strip (remove the plastic covering back 3/8 to 1/2 inch) of the existing wires after you cut them (allow 3 inches of wire from the circuit board to where you cut).

The exact inside of your zapper may very from the one shown in the picture but the process is the same. Pay attention as you disassemble your unit.

Connect the new red wire to the existing red wire, twist together and tape or use wire nut. Put a knot in the wire about 4 inches from the battery connection. The knot will be placed as shown in picture.

When you cut the wire it is best to allow 3 to 4 inches between the cut and the circuit board.

Twist the wires and use tape or wire nut.

Note the placement of the knot, this is to ensure that if you pull hard on the battery adapter you will not disconnect from the circuit or the connection you made to the existing wires.

The unit is ready to reassemble.
