The following is the story of our allergy solution.

There was something in our house making our son, Jake (8 years old), very sick. He was suffering with chronic ear infections, constant runny nose, and dark circles under his eyes, always complaining of his ears hurting and just feeling generally lousy all the time. His teachers and the school nurse were calling approximately 3 days a week to let me know how he felt rotten with the same symptoms. After numerous trips to our doctor, and 4 ear specialists, the doctors decided that the previous treatments were not effective. He has had 31 ear infections, his eardrums have burst 29 times, he has had tubes placed in his ears 5 times, and he has had his tonsils removed and 2 operations to remove his adenoids. At this point they thought he might have cystic fibrosis.

Finally, due to a friend of ours who is a doctor, it was recommended that we seek help from Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City. After seeing the ear specialists there, they had the same response, "His nose is swollen completely shut, he looks totally untreated. You are going to have to see an allergist before we consider treatment." (At this time, and for approximately 1 year Jake has been on 10 mg. Clariton-adult dose, 1 1/2 doses twice a day of Flonase, and he gets allergy shots once a week.) The allergist reaffirmed the ear specialists' diagnosis. It was decided that testing was necessary before deciding on treatment. A CAT scan was given, immune deficiency testing and other blood work was performed. It would be two weeks before we would get any test results.

In the time that it took to get the results we came across an ad that caught our attention (please see attached). After discussing it, we decided that we had tried about every kind of medicine in an attempt to get Jake cleared up, and it seemed that ever since we had moved into our home that Jake seemed to have quite a bit more trouble. We decided that we didn't have much to lose, so we ordered the Alpine Air Purifier and plugged it in. We were not expecting huge results, but wanted to give it an open-minded chance. To our total amazement his runny nose nearly stopped within 2 days, then we noticed that he quit complaining of his ears hurting. (He had been complaining of earaches about 5 days a week). We were starting to get excited about this! After 8 years of sleeping with his mouth open, because he couldn't breathe out of his nose, he was now sleeping with his mouth closed!

The test results came back and we went for an appointment to find out the results. At this point we didn't tell them anything about the air purifier we had purchased. The doctors came in and said that the CAT scan was terrible, his nose was swollen shut, his sinuses were completely blocked, which caused the Eustachian tubes to get backed up, resulting in his ear problems. His diagnosis was SEVERE ALLERGIES. It was said that he must have had terrible sinus headaches. As they began discussing his treatment, I told them to please look at his nose before they considered any treatment. They were very surprised at what they saw. They said the swelling was going down and his sinuses were starting to drain. (They could not drain before because his nose was swollen shut.) They went from needing specific extended treatment to saying keep doing whatever you're doing, it's working! To my total amazement, they released him from the allergy clinic that day!

I know this is a rather lengthy letter, but I wanted you to understand that I appreciate your fear about the "sick building" syndrome. We truly feel that our house was a "sick house". There is something in our house that extremely affected Jake with an allergic reaction. Since we have plugged the air purification in our house it has eliminated the problem. We are so thankful that we went ahead and took the chance and purchased our Alpine air purifier. It truly has made all the difference in the world for Jake. We feel that our entire family has been benefiting from the unit.

Due to our wonderful experience with the unit, we've decided to begin a business as independent Alpine dealers, in hopes that it can help others feel better too. This air purifier works wonderfully on removing pollution from the air we breathe. It effectively removes mold, mildew, bacteria, chemical gases, pollens, dust, dust mites, contaminants, animal dander, viruses, static electricity, carbon monoxide, & much more. New constructions are often so airtight that many of these unhealthy pollutants are trapped inside, with no way to escape. What the Alpine air purifier actually does is electronically recreate a thunderstorm indoors, cleaning the air the same way nature does. It is NOT a filtration system! Filtration systems are not effective.

I hope to place a purifier in Jake's classroom next year! It will not only benefit him, but all his classmates!
